Heated Pool, Spacious, 15min HB Pier, FV20

The house was nice and had plenty of space for our group to hang out, and the location was great. However, it’s an older home and some things felt outdated. The kitchen lacked basic amenities (pots, utensils, trays), and there were not enough towels provided.The biggest issue was the pool. We requested and paid for pool heating in advance, but it was not ready when we arrived—only the hot tub was heated. Despite contacting the host and having someone come out twice, the pool wasn’t usable until our last day, so we lost most of what we paid for.The host was responsive initially, but stopped responding after I requested a partial refund.Overall, the house was just okay, but the heated pool issue really ruined our experience. We paid for something we didn’t receive for most of our stay, and the lack of follow-through on a refund was disappointing. This did not reflect good customer service.

The house was large and lovely, but we had some issues.The coffee machine and toaster oven didn't work. Luckily a nearby relative let us borrow their Kurig, and we found a pop-up toaster in a drawer. The water filter needed to be changed, and there were not enough bath towels. I did mention everything to the Hosts, so hopefully they'll have everything fixed for future Guests.We loved the open flow of the kitchen/dining/living area, so people cooking didn't feel left out, and there were lots of areas to hang out, both inside and outside.What nearly ruined my vacation was getting the pool heated. The Host told me over and over that the round area within the pool was not a hot tub, despite the listing clearly saying there is. (YES, THERE IS!) I asked them to turn on the pool heater Friday so it would be warm enough to swim on Saturday. They said we needed to do it, but wouldn't tell us how. It was padlocked. They said it was turned on, then said it wasn't, we'd have to do it at 6-am, but still no instructions. After many, many requests, someone came Sunday afternoon. Too late to heat the pool, but at least we got to enjoy the hot tub on our last night, and they agreed not to charge for the pool heating.In summary, I loved the house, but communication was frustrating. I hope the Hosts learn from this experience so future Guests won't have these issues.
